This Week at Winsor

End of Year Celebrations

Although June is months away, we want our families in Grades K and 5 to have plenty of notice regarding our end of year festivities. Our Grade 5 Moving Up/DARE celebration will take place on Monday, June 8th at 12:30pm in the Winsor Cafeteria. Our K Stepping Up ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 11th at 9am. Please be sure to hold these dates if you have a student or students in one (or both) of these grades.

Unification Meeting

This past week, families and staff from Winsor and McCabe gathered to craft a vision for our future school community. By beginning to integrate our families and cultures now, we provide an excellent opportunity for partnership going forward. We have many ideas of how we can connect going forward, ranging from school based events to PTO sponsored activities, and community organizations. There are, and will continue to be, chances to join our group. Even if you could not attend our first meeting, please contact Lisa Petrone at lpetrone@smithfield-ps.org if you would like to join.

Surveyworks

One excellent way to offer feedback on our school is to participate in Surveyworks. This platform covers everything from academics to safety to instruction to culture. We greatly value your feedback. We do review the results annually and use the input to make potential changes, so please make your voice heard. I have sent out the school code via email earlier this week. I f you cannot find it, please call the school and we can provide it to you. The direct link to the survey is here:

Indoor Recess Cart

In an effort to make Indoor Recess more fun during these cold winter months (or anytime we have bad weather and can't go outside), the Winsor PTO is creating Indoor Recess Carts! These carts will be packed with activities for Winsor students to enjoy when they can't get outside.

Donations collected from Wacky Wednesday Spirit Days will go towards purchasing items. Also the Ninivaggi Family has offered to utilize their Hasbro Employee discount to help us purchase Hasbro games at a discounted price and Mike Brennan has generously offered to donate his Dell Technologies charitable donation stipend to support this cause. But we could use your help too! If you have gently used games or activity items that your family is no longer using please consider donating them. Please don't feel you have to go out and buy new items.

We are looking for any of the following items to help create some fun indoor recess days for our Winsor Students. If you can donate any of the following items please send them in by Thursday, January 23rd.
