Wellness Event
This week, Smithfield Public Schools, in conjunction with Chartwells, sponsored a wellness event at Smithfield High School. Students had the opportunity to play fun games from our Reccess Rocks program like Switch and Four Square. In addition, tasty, healthy snacks, such as sassy beans and fruit cocktail, were offered. Smithfield now has all four of our elementary schools certified as Recess Rocks schools. Students from Winsor also created healthy postcards for display. I think that everyone who came had a fun night. We look forward to future community events.
School Improvement Update
Please join our School Improvement Team meeting this upcoming Thursday evening, February 6th at 6:30pm. We will update progress on our 2019-2020 plan. This plan focuses on three core initiatives:
1. Full Implementation of Responsive Classroom.
2. Continued implementation of our revised Math curriculum and pacing guide.
3. Year two of the Collins Writing Program.

Surveyworks Needs YOU
We are again asking for your feedback. Help Winsor continue to develop a Growth Mindset by offering us opportunities to improve. Surveyworks is open to all families. Super Bowl Sundaes
Thank you for all of the canned soup donations. This kind gesture will allow for needy families in Rhode Island to obtain some additional food this cold, winter season. While a formal count has yet to be completed, we are thankful to our students and families for helping the less fortunate this January.
Unification Meeting
Please join our Winsor/McCabe Unification Team. We are meeting again right before February break: Tuesday, February 11th at 6:30pm. At this meeting we will continue to draft a vision and begin planning for our future together. The first meeting had an outstanding turnout, so let's keep the positive momentum going.
Chromebook Meeting
For our families in Grade 3- There will be a Chromebook meeting on Thursday, February 13th at 6:00pm at Winsor. Here, you will learn about the device and have an opportunity to ask questions. Our Tech Director, Scott Barnett, will be joining us. Please attend.
