William Winsor Elementary School

Students at Winsor had the pleasure of seeing a concert by the Newport Jazz Ensemble today. Included in this entertaining musical program was also a history of Jazz music, including information on the cultural impact of Jazz music. In addition, students learned about the famous Jazz musicians, such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Dizzy Gillespie. These inspiring musicians set a wonderful example for our students, embodying the value of hard work and persistence. All of these performers were once students as well, showing our student body that a career in music is possible with hard work. Thanks to Mrs. Preston for putting this program together.
