Virtual School Extended Through June

Good Afternoon,

As I'm sure most are aware, today Governor Raimondo extended virtual learning through the duration of this academic year, which concludes for Smithfield on June 12th. While we miss our students dearly, we will continue to work tirelessly to find new and innovative ways to educate all of our students through the virtual model. Our students remain our first commitment and our team of educators will continue to serve our students and community.

Winsor students continue to work hard and set an excellent example for all. This week, students engaged in reading, writing, and Math- but also extended themselves to create wonderful Earth Day posters and obstacle courses for PE. Creativity is a hallmark of the Winsor student. We seek to build and develop that skill in all of our students.

Please note that tomorrow, April 24th, is a break from screen time. Based upon the survey given a few weeks back, we have decided to significantly reduce time at a computer. Students may, if they choose, check in for an activity on Google Classroom, but otherwise, the day should be spent offline. Reading a book, practicing fun math, or connecting with family is great, too.
